Summer Lecture Series – Paige Britt
August 26 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Paige Britt grew up in Salado and lived in the Barton House as a child. Her family had no television, so she spent all her time either inside reading about magical worlds or outside pretending she lived in one (which of course she did). To this day, the “super powers” she developed growing up in Salado are what she relies on as a writer—a love of books, an attention span in keeping with the pace of life, and a sense of wonder in the natural world.
After leaving Salado, Paige studied journalism in college and theology in graduate school, but never stopped reading children’s books for life’s most important lessons.
She is the author of WHY AM I ME?, named a Best Book of 2017 by Publishers Weekly. The New York Times called it one of five new picture books that “not only embolden children to think, but inspire them to feel.” She is also the author of the middle-grade fantasy, THE LOST TRACK OF TIME, “an exuberant homage to the power of imagination and creative problem-solving.”
Paige now lives in Georgetown with her husband Justin Pehoski.
