The Complete History of Salado (Abridged)

June 4, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

The brewery will be closing early (6 pm) for this event.

A benefit program for the Salado Historical Society will be performed at Barrow Brewing on Sunday June 4th at 7pm. This original presentation will be a “radio” program of interviews, music, and readings that capture the colorful and artfully unique history of our village. Various local artists will be contributing their immense talents to this once in a lifetime project that will provide an interesting, insightful, and hopefully a sometimes hilarious look at our distant and not so distant past.

The original script, written by local author Gary D. Askins, will examine our ancestors, predecessors, and progeny through “live interviews” with many of the statues situated in and around our community. Hear from our Great American Bison, Mermaid Sirena, The Magical Catfish, Col. Robertson, The Stagecoach, Bambi and his mother, the Cougar in the Tree, The Self-Made Man, The Lovers, and a few surprise guests. The program will also have various musical interludes that transition our program from one episode to the next. Yes, all of this for only $10 per person. This is a one night only performance so get your tickets now as space is very limited.
